The Mission Behind CyberSergeants
 

I started this site to serve as a tactical playbook for modern defenders. In the field, a sergeant leads from the front, trains the squad, and ensures the team is equipped to handle whatever comes their way. That is exactly my goal for this community.
 

Cybersecurity moves fast, and textbook theory rarely survives first contact with a real-world incident. CyberSergeants is built to bridge that gap, turning complex defensive strategies, threat architecture, and detection engineering into actionable, real-world blueprints you can use immediately.
 

In the Trenches: My Background
 

I don't just write about security; I live it every day. With over six years of hands-on experience spanning SOC operations, incident response, and cloud infrastructure, I’ve spent thousands of hours analyzing malicious behavior and engineering resilient defenses.

Here is a quick look at the experience and credentials I bring to the table:

• Defending at Scale: As a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst at CyberClan, I help protect and manage over 50,000 endpoints across global client networks, handling high-stakes threat hunting and real-time incident response.

• Public & Enterprise Defense: My journey includes building Zero Trust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions and automating risk reporting within the BC Public Service, as well as driving enterprise cloud migration and infrastructure security at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

• The Tech Stack: I specialize heavily in the Microsoft security ecosystem. I love taking massive streams of raw data and turning them into airtight detection rules using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and advanced KQL (Kusto Query Language).

• Academic Foundation: I hold a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from a Canadian university, with a core focus on network security, cryptography, and data analytics.

When I’m not analyzing logs, hunting for anomalies, or writing detection logic, I try to stay active and grounded. You can usually find me exploring the trails across the beautiful West Coast region, training for local footraces, or spending time working on my home garden.
